With all the talk of inflation expectations, in this chart we have a look at the relationship between Roy Morgan Inflation Expectations and the price of fuel at the pump in Perth.

This is not new. In fact, an RBA paper on various measures of inflation notes a study highlighting the relationship. Still, it bears remembering at a time when inflation and expectations for the future are on people's minds.
