NSW Building Approvals for June 2021
NSW Approvals
In June, the approvals for both houses and ex-houses fell in NSW (chart above). The 6 month average (below) for ex-houses is still climbing because of the low number from December dropping out of the 6 month window. January and February were also low, so the average may continue to rise for the next two months unless the monthly figures dip again. We saw large dips in April, May and June of 2020, presumably because of the initial Covid shock and the instituted lockdowns. Next month, we should see whether the Sydney lockdown has a similar chilling effect on approvals.
